Big Brother 2013 Dan And Jemima Argument Essay

Big Brother's Jemima Slade has threatened to quit the Channel 5 show after she was given a ‘formal warning’ following a row with fellow housemate Gina Rio that saw socialite Gina claim that she may have “just experienced racism”.

The 41-year-old told copper housemate Dan Neal that her words were “totally blown out of proportion” and that she felt like “packing my bag and leaving” after the spat.

In scenes shown on Channel 5 last night, fake housemate Michael asked Slade about her 'type' when it comes to dating.

“I go for darker looking, not black, but darker features, Mediterranean. I wouldn’t generally go for a black guy," the ‘gold digger’ dating website entrepreneur replied, before adding: "I like darker guys, but not black guys. Wouldn’t really go for Chinese. I like mixed race."

Moments later, Gina asked Jemima for a chat in the bedroom and - after relaying the previous conversation to the rest of the group - told Jemima that she felt offended by her earlier comments.

“Just the way you said 'I don’t like black men', it’s the way you said it. I didn’t like it and I felt a certain way and I felt very very offended and I can’t help the way I feel,” said jobless Gina, who lives off an allowance from her parents.

Jemima, however, protested that what she was reported to have said was not accurate.

“I didn’t say I didn’t like black men,” the mum-of-one came back.

“I’ve got loads of black friends. I wouldn’t go for a Chinese guy, generally that’s my taste, you probably wouldn’t go for a white guy.”

Rio – dubbed the most spoiled woman in Britain – also took issue with Jemima’s assumptions about her dating preferences before the whole discussion descended into a slanging match.

“Why would you say that?” demanded the 24-year-old.

“How would you know that I haven’t been out with a white guy? Just because I’m black why would you assume?”

Jemima replied: “You’re turning it into a racial thing, that’s why you’ve got an issue with it. You’re paranoid. You had a fight on the first night.

“That didn’t include you, that’s none of your business,” fired back Gina.

“I think you’re the most shallow and selfish person I’ve ever met,” volleyed back Slade before Gina, of north London, branded her ‘insecure’.

“I think you’re very jealous and insecure. I always see you staring at me, giving me very funny looks and I do not appreciate [them].”

Slade clearly felt hard done by after a ticking off was handed down in the Diary Room, going on to tell Dan: “I just feel like walking, going home.

“They just gave me a formal warning. They said if you say anything like that again you’ll be removed from the house. So I just said I might as well go now then.”

She added: “It was totally blown out of proportion. I’ll just shut up now and not say a f***ing word. I just feel like packing my bag and leaving.”

* Big Brother is on tonight, Tuesday 18th June 2013, 10pm on Channel 5

Big Brother 14 was the year that nice guy Sam Evans stole our hearts - but failed to win round socialite Gina Rio.

With a 'Secrets and Lies' theme, the series introduced its first-ever "People's Puppet" in actor Michael, who caused havoc at the whim of the viewers.

Zombies invaded the BB house, leaving the housemates to come up with a cure for the undead in a series of tasks.

The air was regularly turned blue when glamour model Sallie and Gina locked horns approximately every three minutes.

While eventual Sam spread the love and confessed his feelings to Gina, receiving an abrupt "thanks" in response - at least she was polite!

The series low-point came when boxer Daley Ojuederie was kicked out after becoming aggressive towards glamour model Hazel.

Here's the lowdown on BB14's fabulous 14:

Winner Sam Evans

Shop assistant Sam Evans, 23, was shocked when he scooped the £100,000 prize. And we were shocked when he announced he was planning on giving 25 per cent to charity and 25 per cent to family and friends.

Dexter Koh

Dapper Dexter, 28, fell for fellow housemate Charlie and wasn't shy about letting her know. The coy 26-year-old might have kept publicist Dexter at arm's length on the show ended, but afterwards were spotted sharing a snog, and disappeared into the night on the back of a rickshaw.

Charlie Travers

Receptionist Charlie entered the house with her mum Jackie as she wanted to "embrace life to the max" following two cancer scares which led to her having her cervix and ovary removed. She grew close to Dexter while in the house and other housemates wondered allowed if she was stringing him along.

Jackie Travers

Mum-of-two Jackie, 59, was booted out of the house after regularly falling out with Callum over his feelings for her daughter. She branded the 28-year-old "deluded" for thinking he had a chance with Charlie.

Jemima Slade

The 41-year-old owns a gold-digger website and is a self-confessed cougar. She got it all kinds of trouble when she told other housemates that "I don't date black men."

Dan Neal

Former senior police detective Dan apparently quit the Jimmy Saville sex enquiry to appear in the BB house. The 33-year-old father-of-one is now dating X-Factor star Rylan Clark.

Gina Rio

Gina, 24, formed a close bond with Dexter during her time in the house. The socialite - who receives a £10,000 a month allowance from her businessman dad - was a feisty minx, enjoying a series of almighty rows with glamour model Sallie.

Wolfy Millington

Student Wolfy, 20, described herself as "a lesbian, shaman and fisherwoman" and dreamed of appearing on BB since the show started. The digital media student saw her popularity drop after her accused Dan of bullying her.

Sallie Axl

Tattooed glamour model, and mum-of-one, Sallie was the first housemate to be evicted from the 2013 BB house. The 26-year-old was involved in several rows during her short stay but admitted she wanted to "cause a bit of trouble."

Callum Knell

Callum, 28, claimed that Dexter "bullied and belittled" him during his time in the house. The situation came to a head when the children's football coach was pitted against his nemesis in a boxing task.

Sophie Lawrence

Dental nurse Sophie, 20, was the go-to girl when any of her housemates had a problem. After leaving the house, the East Londoner opened up about her three-year relationship with Tom Partlett, who has cystic fibrosis.

Jack & Joe Glenny

Identical twins, and Tory supporters, Jack and Joe, 18, counted as one housemate, finishing in fourth place. After they were evicted they complained that Dexter was "aggravating as hell."

Daley Ojuederie

The 28-year-old boxer was evicted in the fifth week after becoming aggressive with Hazel during an argument. Her slapped her on the backside, clasped her around the neck and pinned her to the bed.

Hazel O'Sullivan

Irish glamour model Hazel, 24, was booed when she left the house, after fans blamed her for Daley's early exit. Since leaving BB, the curvy brunette has been linked to One Direction's Niall Horan and TOWIE's Tom Pearce.
